Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and is the only person to be given 10/10 points during an Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. In 1969, she competed at the Romanian Junior Championships and finished 13th. She won in 1970. In her 1972 first international competition in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. The first female ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started performing as a figure skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry as a teenager. Her career began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
